Mott 32 Singapore: Hong Kong's iconic Chinese restaurant to open in Marina Bay Sands
More to love
Since its debut, Marina Bay Sands has solidified its namesake as a one-stop destination of prestigious heavyweights — be it designers or chefs. Now, the affluent lineage continues — with the arrival of Hong Kong's iconic Mott 32. The multi-award winning contemporary Chinese restaurant presents an acclaimed menu of time-honoured recipes passed down from generation, alongside a penchant for progressive culinary direction.
Inspired by New York's first Chinese convenience store that opened back in 1981, at 32 Mott Street, the stunning restaurant sings of the triumph of modern Chinese married with a stronghold for heritage and culture. Tracing the flavours of Cantonese, Szechuan, and Beijing fare, the menu in Singapore's outpost will feature Mott 32's signature dishes like apple wood roasted peking duck and barbecued glazed iberico pork with a soft quail egg and black truffle siu mai.
Not forgetting, the signature absolute factor: the furnishings of the space, headed by acclaimed interior designer, Joyce Wang. Every Mott 32 (whether it be in Hong Kong, Seoul, Vancouver or Las Vegas) reprises a blend of industrial New York design and classic Chinese chinoiserie, while highlighting distinctive local elements of its host city. The restaurant on our shores will pay tribute to the balmy evenings in the Garden City and tap on warm hues that represent key flavours (like spice, umami and citrus) on the menu. Decadent foliage and flora will cover the space against a beautiful sheen of black and green terrazzo lining the floors. We suppose those hand-painted lanterns suspended along the bar will make for something worthy on the 'Gram as well.
So bring the whole fam, we're pretty sure an invitation here can bump you up to being the favourite child.
Mott 32 is slated to open at the end of this year.
