Why Goodwood Park Hotel's upcoming durian fiesta could win over the purists
The D24 diet
You either love or hate the King of Fruits. There's just no in-between. If you belong to the latter like us — mark your calendars as Goodwood Park's inaugural Durian Fiesta is back, celebrating 35 years of indulging their fanbase with a slew of delectable treats.
This year, the hotel will be serving up four newly-crafted D24 creations, on top of their all-time favourites. Think innovative options like the D24 White Chocolate Raspberry Dome — featuring a biscuit tart cradled with white chocolate mousse D24 pulp and coated in a garland of dried raspberries.
There's also the D24 Coffee Glaze, which sees a glorious shimmer of coffee glaze above a soft coffee sponge lavished with pure D24 pulp. While these renditions aren't as traditional as purists might like them to be, its midas touch still rides on the quality and freshness of the durians used in the creations, then magnified with the help of an unlikely pairing. Who knew durian and orange mousse was even allowed to be on the same plate? Their D24 Orange Choc-A-Bloc might just prove you wrong.
Other old-time hits like Mao Shan Wang Mousse Cake, D24 Puffs and Durian Strudel will also make their anticipated return. Indeed, no one hosts a durian soirée quite like Goodwood Park Hotel does.
Goodwood Park Hotel's Durian Fiesta will be available from 30 March to 22 July.
