F1-themed brunches to savour this weekend
We know it's only Monday, but with the exciting Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix happening in less than four days — we think it's definitely about time to start planning for the festivities and late-night revelry this weekend. But while it's important to make sure you hit up the best parties and catch your favourite music acts perform on our shores, it's also essential to load up with delicious sustenance before inhaling copious amounts of booze.
Joining the party are these snazzy F1-themed brunches — yes, think traffic light coloured pancakes as well as an entire menu dedicated to a certain world-class racer. There's no better time to be a good sport and celebrate by giving our stomachs a treat.
Botanico at The Garage
Fans of Fernando Alonso, you're not alone. Botanico at The Garage shares the same sentiment by paying ode to their favourite racer with a brunch set menu of scrumptious Spanish delights. Their decadent 5-course set menu kicks off with freshly shucked oysters with jalapeno emulsion and smoked salmon roe, and a spread of Jamón Ibérico — cured ham with fried capers. Next up, choose from their selection of starters, which includes a smoked organic egg and roasted potato foam, as well as grilled sucrine lettuce topped with Spanish smoked anchovies, herb yoghurt and toasted pine nuts. Craving a warm hearty bowl? Their next course — foie gras soup enlivened with a savoury churro — will hit just the spot. When it comes to mains, choose from Inka-grilled scarlet prawns, braised wagyu beef cheeks, or a tender Spanish mackerel. To finish off, indulge in a glorious Spanish rice pudding and a platter of exotic cheeses with truffled honey and charcoal flat bread.

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the race course action is The Summerhouse, a dreamy enclave perfect for diners who are seeking an afternoon respite before the night activities. German Head Chef Florian Ridder has created an array of Italian-German specials that pay tribute to his idol, German racing legend Michael Schumacher. Dig into The Summerhouse's classic Bollito Misto, an Italian stew simmered with caramelised apple, potato puree, and brown onions. If you're feeling more adventurous, be sure to order their homemade tortellini stuffed with blood sausage. And don't leave without trying their F1-inspired cocktails — their refreshing Michael Martini, a vodka-based concoction with Chambord and pineapple juice, will wash all the heavy grub down.
