Make it thick

The recent rainy and breezy weather in Singapore has got us all huddled in our sweaters and snuggled under the sheets a little past our alarms, but more importantly, it has seriously sparked an appetite for a bowl of comforting hot soup. In particular, one laden with collagen like the famed number from Beauty In The Pot. While it might be touted and disputed for some nourishing benefits, we just can't get enough of the richness, all swirling in the piping hotpot worthy of a two-hour waiting time. Sure, BITP might have had a good headstart on the reputable broth, but it's Singapore and of course we have options. Here's where else to book a table at.

Tsukada Nojo

With over 40 outlets in Japan and four addresses in Singapore, Japan's hotpot household name is a hit amongst Singaporeans. Having since its first joint in Singapore back in 2012, there are still snaking queues every night in all of their outlets. Their signature dish in Singapore is the Bijin Nabe, a golden collagen-rich chicken broth that is full of chicken stock flavour stewed over eight hours. The stock comes chilled and in a jelly form before being boiled over high heat to cook your other ingredients in.

Shi Li Fang

Yes, this affordable spot also dishes out a hearty beauty collagen chicken soup. A hit amongst students and office crowds in the CBD, you often find queues at lunch crowds and during the evenings. With over 16 outlets all over Singapore, hop into any of the outlets for a quick and hearty dinner fix with friends and families.

Torikin

Originating from Hakata Japan, premium hot pot restaurant, Toriki, is known for their signature hotpot dish — Mizutaki, a high collagen chicken broth base that has been cooked over seven hours with traditional cooking methods. They serve a range of savoury dishes to have alongside your hotpot, so do devour it as the Japanese do, finish off your broth with a bubbly bowl of porridge or ramen at the end of the meal.

Da Miao Hot Pot

While it's known for a spicy-numbing mala soup, its other signature soup base in their Singapore outlet is the all-natural beauty collagen soup simmered over six hours with pork bones, fish maw, pigskin, chicken feet and pumpkin.
