Chef Ivan Brehm of 1-Michelin Nouri shares his favourite dining spots
Because F&B insiders know best
These days I'm busy with being alive and embracing things as they come.
A hawker stall I would queue for is the sloppy, slurpy Serangoon original hokkien mee, on the corner of Serangoon road and Beatty road.
I'm a regular at Madras New Woodlands in Little India.
My favourite bar in Singapore is Native, and Nouri, and Atlas. Oh and Jigger & Pony.
My guilty pleasure is ice cream.
My go-to supper spot is Ting Heng Eating House. I'm a sucker for their salt-baked chicken and their razor clams. But the menu is uber tasty anyway you slice it.
For weekend brunch with friends, I do chamagne brunch at Basilico.
The best place to get a meal with seafood is still Ting Heng Eating House.
For special occasions, I dress down and arrive late.
My all-time favourite restaurant has yet to be invented.
I grew up eating food from all over the world.
For dining with family, I take Prozac.
The food scene in Singapore is on a slope up for restaurants and a slope down for hawkers. What a bummer.
