Australia's famed brewery Little Creatures will open their first flagship in Singapore
Any self-respecting craft beer fanatic would be familiar with Australian brewery Little Creatures, and how it is ironically, not what one would call little. In fact, the renowned brand is one of the largest craft brewers in Australia, and now it is landing on our tiny shores. What can we say? Our infinite thirst for beer has certainly travelled far and wide.
Adopting a similar set-up as their Asian outpost in Hong Kong, the opening in Singapore marks the latest enigmatic establishment along Club Street — with a dynamic restaurant-cum-bar concept. Fortunately, the good folk behind Little Creatures have a passion and the capacity for brewing locally, even in our humble parameters. In order to do so, the creative team have broken down brick walls and metal grilles to turn their Singapore outfit into an in-house microbrewery, which is set to be in full swing by the end of this year.
Diners can expect to witness the triumphant brewing process up close before sipping on one of their well-balanced ales straight from the tap. Six of their signature beers will be permanently on tap — to name a few, their flagship full-bodied Pale Ale, intense Original Pills and a fruity Bright Ale. That's not all. The thirst-quenching offerings here isn't just about serving up the classics, but to experiment and explore new flavours catered to the locals. Expect to be enticed by seasonal beers, one-off specialty beers and even guest brews in collaboration with other local brewers. For now, start with a special Club Street Sub IPA brew — a citrus concoction of malt and a strong hoppy finish.
Hungry? You'll be stuffed, not just from the suds but from the Mediterranean-inspired spread here. We're talking everything from eggs on toast, pastas, pizzas, salads, even milkshakes to cater to your every whim.
On second thought, we might just save on the flight to the Land Down Under this year, and hang out here at Little Creatures instead.
Little Creatures will be officially open their doors on the 30 May.
Mohamed Ali Lane, 36 Club Street.
Opening hours: 8am-12am
