Edible works of art reign at the Mandarin Grill + Bar

As Hong Kong prepares to welcome visitors the world over for Art Basel, chefs at the city's top restaurants are planning ahead for the extravagant post-vernissage dinners attended by the who's who of the art world. Over at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong's Mandarin Grill + Bar, executive chef Uwe Opocensky is creating an art-inspired menu that goes beyond the usual smoke and mirrors of molecular gastronomy fare.
As the official hotel partner for Art Basel Hong Kong, it is no surprise the kitchen at Mandarin Grill + Bar has given its special art-inspired menu a generous dash of creativity. Each dish will see inspiration drawn from familiar art-world tropes ranging from edible soil to sauces presented as pots of paint. For lunch, the menu will comprise three courses while dinner presents an artistic exploration spanning five courses.
Available from 14 to 27 March at Mandarin Grill + Bar, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong.
