Romantic spots in Singapore: Where to propose, have date nights or a HTHT with your loved ones
Tiffany & Co. certainly knows the way to a girl's heart. Last August, the American luxury jewellery house caused a social media buzz with its dreamy collaboration with Tiong Bahru Bakery for the launch of the Tiffany Paper Flowers collection. In April, the brand got us giddy with excitement with the opening of its latest concept store Tiffany @ Cat Street in Harajuku, Tokyo, which houses Japan's first Tiffany café. And this week, it's celebrating modern love with the installation of New York City-style, Tiffany Blue benches at some of the most romantic spots in Singapore from 16 to 25 May 2019.
The theme "modern love" echoes in Tiffany True, a new engagement ring design set to become another icon of the house with its ethically-sourced diamond, contoured cut, four-pronged setting and a discreet "T" on the side of the ring.
With its clean lines and modern aesthetic, the Tiffany True ring represents the many unconventional relationships in our world today. "It gives people a different choice that's equally inspired and equally special," says Reed Krakoff, Tiffany & Co.'s chief artistic officer. And together, both the new and the classic designs embodies the brand's celebration of love in all forms — conventional or otherwise.
Launched with the Tiffany T True wedding jewellery collection, both Tiffany True and Tiffany T True are compatible so you can stack on the rings or go minimalist.
The brand has chosen nine romantic places for the Tiffany Blue benches, starting with ION Orchard on 16 May. An ice cream cart and Tiffany Blue benches will be stationed right in front of the Tiffany & Co. store, where anyone can get a pretty blooming rose ice cream cone, just by posting a creative photo with any of the Tiffany Blue benches. There are also a poets-in-residence at the ION boutique from 16 to 25 May to craft a lovely poem based off a word of your choice. Hashtags to include for all your Instagram posts and stories: #TiffanySingapore #BelieveInLove
The exact locations of other benches will be unveiled right here, so watch this space for updates. Meanwhile, read on for clues, or simply for ideas on where to bring your dates — friends included — or to propose, even.
Locations of Tiffany Blue benches
16 May: ION Orchard, Orchard Road
17 May: Gardens By The Bay's Golden Garden and Floral Fantasy
18 May: Quayside Isle
19 May: Singapore River
20 May: Jewel Changi Airport
21 May: Clifford Square
It's not the quietest precinct, but if your idea of a perfect date is to go shopping together (plenty of insights to be gleaned), there's nowhere else like Orchard Road with its world-class malls and fancy boutiques. For more romantic vibes, take a stroll through Emerald Hill's beautiful heritage shophouses.
Gardens By The Bay
There is simply no denying the enduring romance of the Gardens by the Bay with its lush foliage and enchanting structures. Make time to see the new Floral Fantasy - featuring four captivating garden landscapes and a 4D ride - and the Japanese zen-inspired, outdoor Serene Garden, while you're there.
Marina Bay Sands
The breathtaking views from the top of Marina Bay Sands alone is enough reason to book a table at one of the rooftop restaurants. Spago Dining Room by Wolfgang Puck is a wonderland of bright Californian cuisine; LAVO serves Italian-American dishes by day and live DJ sets and cocktails by night; while CÉ LA VI is great if you're hankering for Asian flavours.
Not quite in the mood for elevated dining? Being surrounded by water also gives lovey-dovey vibes. Pop into one of the many restaurants and bars along Singapore River (we recommend Prive at ACM, Summerlong, and Superloco) for a classic dinner-and-drinks date.
The Fullerton Heritage
Yes, it's along Singapore River, but this beautifully-restored, historically-rich precinct is worth a standalone mention. An upscale dining and hospitality complex, it consists The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore, The Fullerton Waterboat House, One Fullerton, The Fullerton Pavilion, Clifford Pier and Customs House. P.S.: Clifford Pier is one of the most gorgeous places in town for afternoon tea.
