Christmas Wonderland returns to Gardens by the Bay bigger and better than ever
The most wonderful time of the year
Christmas in Singapore isn't quite complete without a visit to Gardens by the Bay. Year after year, we've marvelled at the magical festivities at Christmas Wonderland, which never fails to stir up the joyful spirit of our favourite season.
Well, the good news is that this year's edition takes things up a notch, with an enthralling line-up of experiences and a stunning display of light sculptures at the Flower Dome. We break down the exciting list of highlights below.
Witness state-of-the-art light sculptures
Without a doubt, this is what everyone comes to see at Christmas Wonderland. Back with brand-new designs, the luminarie sculptures of light handcrafted from Italy will once again, transform the fairground into a dreamy wonderland. This year, 252,000 multi-hued bulbs will light up over 70 luminarie sculptures — one of which will stand the tallest in Southeast Asia.
Ice-skate under the stars
For the first time at Gardens by the Bay, visitors can ice-skate under the stars at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay. To make this happen, they've brought in the big guns — a 240sqm outdoor synthetic skating rink that has been specially shipped in from Switzerland. The view? It's hard to top the beautiful luminarie light sculptures, which serves as the perfect backdrop.
Get a taste of SAVOUR
Tuck into a jolly feast as the team behind Singapore's premiere gourmet food festival, SAVOUR, heads up the food offerings at Christmas Wonderland. Celebrity chefs from award-winning restaurants like Shoukouwa, Saint Pierre, and Monti will be offering dishes at a fraction of their usual prices. Wine-lovers can also sip their way through a specially-curated Wine Market at the fair.
Watch a pulsating circus act
For something a little alternative and exhilarating, witness the highly-acclaimed Circus Abyssinia from Africa, as they display a compilation of gravity-defying stunts and impressive tricks in this circus spectactular.
Meet a real-life Santa Claus
Yes, the man exists. The official Santa Claus from Finland will be here at Christmas Wonderland in his temporary home, called 'Santa's Grotto'. Naughty or nice? He'll be the judge. Set in a whimsical nightscape, with life-sized reindeers and an Alpine House decked in pinewood, here's where kids and the young-at-heart can live out their Christmas fantasies.
Christmas Wonderland will be held from 1 December to 26 December, from 4pm to 11pm daily.
