Behold, The Grand Beedapest Hotel

The Brexit aftershocks might still be rippling through the United Kingdom, but it isn't all doom and gloom for the nation of tea drinkers. Yorkshire tea and coffee maker Taylors of Harrogate has recently unveiled a dollhouse-sized resort for bees — a whimsical nod to the very creatures that pollinate a third of what we consume today.

Modelled after Wes Anderson's iconic ski resort in The Grand Budapest Hotel, the Grand Beedapest Hotel is equal parts twee nostalgia and pastel-washed glory. Inside, bees hover over cool blue pools in the Peppermint Leaf Gym & Spa, fuel up at the Lemongrass and Ginger Bar, and retire to such cosy abodes as the Sour Cherry Bedroom or Sweet Rhubarb Queen Bee Suite. The tea-inspired names are no mere happenstance. This project aims to raise awareness for the role of bees in delivering the flavours so commonly found in fruit and herbals teas — and we'll raise our teacups to that. These furry guys are truly the bee's knees.
