Winter is coming

As most of the world ready their palpitating hearts for the final and eighth season of HBO series Game of Thrones in 2019, we have found the perfect outlet to release all that pent-up anticipation — into the arms of a very special bottle of scotch.

In collaboration with HBO and Game of Thrones, Johnnie Walker presents the new White Walker by Johnnie Walker. Inspired by the most revered and enigmatic characters on the show, the whisky embodies the chill of winter; paying homage to the Night King and his undead army's icy blue eyes.

Concocted by whisky specialist George Harper, alongside a small team of expert blenders at Johnnie Walker, this bottle of scotch is best served directly from the freezer. The liquid sparks notes of caramelised sugar and vanilla, fresh red berries as well as single malts from Cardhu and Clynelish (one of Scotland's most Nothern distilleries). A nod to the frozen North — which happens to be Harper's starting point for creating the limited-edition whisky. "Whiskies from Clynelish have endured long, Scottish winters, not dissimilar to the long periods endured by the Night's Watch who have ventured north of the wall — so it was the perfect place to start when creating this unique whisky."

The bottling echoes the same chilling touches — with an icy white and blue design along with the iconic Johnnie Walker Striding Man who's now fashioned in armour disguised as one of the Night King's forces. You'll also find temperature-sensitive ink technology enscripted on the surface, reading "Winter is Here" when the bottle is entirely frozen.

We might just safekeep this bottle of whisky in time for the season premiere as well as a befitting legacy to immortalise this epic series.

White Walker by Johnnie Walker is now available at 1855 The Bottle Shop, Redmart, and Cold Storage retailing at S$75 (700ml bottle).
