My cup runneth over Founder, @collatethelabel @oursecondnature Fertility support #purposeineachseason

These days I ve been feeling a little inadequate in my role as a mom. The emotions have been lingering for a while now, and has gotten more apparent when Ellery had a little incident that led to her being hospitalised. She is well, but momma s heart needs a bit of mending.

Ellery looks to her yaya (our helper & her primary caretaker) for all her needs, even emotional ones. I know what I feel is not jealousy yaya has a heart full of love for Ellery and we can t ask for a better caretaker. I can t say for sure that it is guilt either, because I know my family and I ultimately benefit from me having a career outside of home.

Perhaps it is self-doubt; fear that I m falling short in this mothering gig. I m constantly questioning if I ve got my priorities with work and home right, and if there ll ever be a point in my life I d look back in regret for not spending enough time with Ellery.

Motherhood is hard, and the struggles that come with being a working mom is inevitable. We all do our best. It s not easy and it takes effort, but I remind myself that instead of always trying to measure up, perhaps my best is enough.

I love you and miss you more than you ll ever know, baby girl.
