Everyone from Kim Kardashian and Sarah Paulson to Queen Elizabeth is wearing neon like it's 1985
Here's a bright idea we can't ignore. '80s neon is making a comeback, and it's not just for EDM revellers or athleisure kids. It's for everyone. And we mean everyone — the old, the young, the sovereign, the celeb royalty.
Kim Kardashian has been leading the charge with this one, with a pink Yeezy nylon two-piece at Kylie Jenner's 21st birthday; a lime green bodycon dress for 2Chainz and Kesha Ward's wedding; a vintage skin-tight yellow Versace for a dinner party; a casual Rick Owens bright green latex skirt and matching green Emilio Pucci sunglasses for a day at the mall. She even had a Lamborghini match the exact shade of the lime green wig she wore on a night in Miami.
Celebrities such as Blake Lively, Kendall Jenner and even Queen Elizabeth have worn the trend head to toe, following runway iterations from Sonia Rykiel, Moschino, Tom Ford and Prada. But if you're not convinced, stick to the safe area with neon accessories — think pumps (Wang Ju), gloves and socks (Rita Ora), cute mini handbags and tiny sunglasses. The guys can get in on the Day-Glo action as well as lots of wearable and minimalist fluorescent separates were seen on the spring/summer 2019 runways at Acne Studios and MSGM. Pair it with white to stay safe, or clash it with prints to grab attention.
We're on your side either way.
