The best street style from Paris Fashion Week FW17
Let the games begin
Welcome to Paris, the land of hot, buttery croissants, silver screen romance and the epicentre of ready-to-wear at its haute finest. As we near the end of a three month marathon celebrating the best of menswear, couture and womenswear, it's only befitting that the birthplace of contemporary fashion as we know it is charged with giving fall 2017 its last hurrah. Are the runways your telescope to the season's biggest trends? Without a doubt. Is all the street action a prelude to your upcoming Pinterest feed? But of course. You know the drill: Click and repeat.
DAY 8: CLUB MIU MIU
Miuccia Prada is a madcap genius. As one of the few designers who consistently offer collections unmarked by trends season after season, the Miu Miu (and Prada) girl's allure lies in her indulging individuality, her endearing eccentricity. In spirit of the brand's show on day 8 of PFW, we round up the style posse who paraded their Miu Miu gear like a badge of honour.

DAY 7: SUIT YOURSELF
They say, "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". While that might not always be true, it is when it comes to the power pantsuit. Excuse me, the Hillary Clinton power pantsuit. Her policies notwithstanding, it's undeniable that she's taken many hits for womankind — defending our rights to our bodies and attempting to break the ultimate glass ceiling while dealing with deep-rooted sexism are just some of them. And so we'd like to think of this as a tribute of sorts, as the fashion community taking a hit for her in return in one way we know how: by making her iconic political get-up (one that has endured much mockery over the years) uber fashionable. And yeah, in case you're wondering, this is what feminism looks like.

DAY 6: PUNCH DRUNK LOVE
'Tis the season to be unabashedly vivid, whether it's intentionally clashing colours like New York's super troop or simply piling on the punchy brights like these ladies. Indeed, orange, pink, acid yellow and bottle green are your new staple hues. While black will always be a perennial classic, let it take the backseat for now — it should only be injected in small doses to anchor a bold outfit.

DAY 5: BOOT CAMP
Proving that there's nothing that can rain on their style parade, show-goers brought their thigh-high boots out to play — a sensible yet sophisticated remedy to one of Paris' wet and gloomy days. From an arresting Vetements purple to the quintessential black colourway, see how these boots look even better when paired with bare legs. Hot, hot, hot.

DAY 4: JUST LIKE THE WHITE WINGED DOVE
After oceans of brocade and metallics and embellishments and patchworks and florals and *catches breath* all that red, fashion week attendees are finally starting to dial back the drama. Still, the timely embrace of black and white leaves no room for basics. Here, the sleeves are still formidable and the accessories range from hippie to haute.

DAY 3: CALL TO ARMS
While we're strong believers of moderation and that too much of a good thing can actually be a bad thing, statement sleeves are one of the fine, few exceptions. Blowing up to epic proportions during spring 2017, we see the return of the dramatic detailing — but this time, reigning supreme in a more chic, sculptural breed.

DAY 2: COLD SHOULDER
There's something about a jacket that we can't seem to leave well alone. You'll see us drape it on our shoulders, tie it around our waist, but never (ok, maybe there's some hyperbole here) subject it to practical, pedestrian habits — both arms in sleeves, garment buttoned up. Because, where's the fun in that? Even when the temperatures are taking a plunge in Paris, the cool kids shake it off. Quite literally so. This is next level nonchalance that we can get on board with.

DAY 1: RED, SHE SAID
As any magnetic type A personality will confess, the colour red is indeed man's best friend. Whether it's a touch of scarlet to see you through the quarterly board meeting or, in this case, to command the lenses of fashion week's street photographers, master the powerful hue for an entrance they won't soon forget.
