Donatella Versace is partnering with the singer on a clothing range for both men and women

Hot on the heels of his Giuseppe Zanotti footwear collaboration, Zayn Malik is off to Versus Versace, for another designing venture. Since disbanding One Direction, the now-solo singer has been quite the prominent fashion circuit player. Frequently decked out in Versace — his Met Gala suit that came with a robotic armour metal arm and the all-black ensemble in his Pillow Talk video, it's no surprise that he's been roped in by Donatella Versace to design a capsule collection.

Donatella met Malik when he started dating Gigi Hadid — who happens to be the face of the brand's spring and fall 2016 campaigns. Instantly impressed by his charm, she mused to New York Times on the partnership, "They are very nice young people, a lovely couple, in fact. And then he told me how much he loved fashion. It was then I knew he was the right face for what I had in mind. He's smart to do it with me."

Named Zayn x Versus, the capsule collection includes apparel for men and women, which will be presented to buyers and editors in spring. Officially set to be dropped in May next year, the line will be available to purchase at Versus stores, globally and online. With a rock-and-roll attitude that is on brand for Versus, Zayn might just fill the void since Anthony Vaccarello's departure.

Zayn x Versus is set to drop in May 2017 at Versus stores, globally and online.
