World Cup 2018: MCM reaches fever pitch with backpacks co-designed by star footballers
If there's one thing we learnt this 2018 World Cup, it's that football mania is highly infectious, and fashion is well, highly susceptible. The trophy gets its very own Louis Vuitton trunk case, and FIFA's best young player — France's Kylian Mbappé — played in Virgil Abloh's Nike x Off-White boots.
Its this fervour that MCM adds on to, with a series of co-designed backpacks that ropes in key footballers like Neymar Jr, Paul Pogba, Luca Modric and Ivan Perisic to name but a few. The selected crew known as #TeamMCM were invited to put their stamp on the German brand's distinctive styles of backpacks, with most tacking on their club logos, initials and jersey numbers, brought to life by MCM craftsmen.
