Binged all the episodes of Netflix's Next in Fashion? If you find it particularly gratifying to watch good talent receive the recognition they deserve, then you'll be pleased to hear about Singapore's latest initiative to spotlight Asian talent in fashion innovation. Introducing the Vogue Singapore x Textile and Fashion Federation (TAFF) Innovation Prize, which celebrates the work and talent of individuals and businesses who have displayed an outstanding show of creativity and skills in fashion and lifestyle innovation. While Singapore might not be one of the first few countries that spring to mind when you're thinking fashion hubs, that's exactly why this prize has been conceived — to grow and support fashion tech talents in Asia. As for the bigger picture? To propel Singapore on the global stage as a hub for creative innovation and design.

So who is invited to participate in the inaugural Innovation Prize? Well, we're talking about the brands and businesses from cohorts 1 to 4 of The Bridge Fashion Incubator (TBFI), which have successfully concluded the 16-week fashion incubation programme by TAFF. Participants interested in the Innovation Prize can expect an 8-week long programme that includes Vogue Campus, a 2-day bootcamp-like format with a knowledge sharing workshop by Vogue Singapore, that brings together experts in various sectors (like Media, Design, Innovation, Sustainability and Business) and speed networking sessions, to provide them with invaluable advice they will carry with them as they go along. But the knowledge retention doesn't just end there — participants are in for a whole lot of learning by taking part in the Innovation Prize. They will then paired with local mentors thereafter, who will guide them through a 4-week process to build and refine their skills and business plans before presenting to a final international jury, so they'll be in tip-top condition for the Big Day.

The winner of the inaugural Innovation Prize will stand to win a cash prize of $15,000, exclusive access to mentoring support and industry knowledge through local and global experts, editorial exposure through Vogue Singapore, as well as introductions and connections to investors for potential funding. Talk about the perfect way to kickstart your fashion innovation journey — almost like Singapore's very own "Sandbox" (Start-Up, anyone?) for aspiring fashion entrepreneurs. With this prize being just the beginning of many other potential initiatives in the future to encourage fashion innovation in Singaore, the future of local fashion definitely seems blinding.

Interested participants can still apply for the TBFI programme to participate in the Innovation Prize.
Open call briefing for cohort 4 is on Wednesday, 27 January and the application deadline is on Thursday, 11 February. Details of the programme and prize can be found here.
