Versace, Versace, Versace, Versace... The Italian fashion brand has attained almost mythical status in pop culture, as an emblem of brash sexiness and gilded opulence. Like all the best myths, its rich heritage is as wide open to interpretation (we see you, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story) as the revealing neckline of J. Lo's iconic palm-leaf gown. For SS19, Donatella invited streetwear label Kith to design a 100-piece capsule riffing on familiar house codes, fabricated in a luxurious mix of velour and silk satin. The range also marks the first time that the Medusa logo has been given a tweak, in the witty form of a Kith-label blindfold that has the Gorgon looking like a stone-cold — pun intended — baddie.
