Uniqlo U continues to make the case for "less is more"

This is why fast fashion is a cycle almost impossible to break. We're wearing Uniqlo U's recent fall/winter drop as we type the following: Uniqlo U's first drop of its spring/summer 2018 collection will happen as soon as 26 January 2018, with gradual releases of shirts, bags and shoes slated for March and April.

Led by Christophe Lemaire, the artistic director's signature timelessness is in full bloom this coming season. Roomy striped raglan jerseys and plissé boatneck sweaters are as reliable in the wardrobe as they come, but they speak highly of Lemaire's flair for elevation of the basic. Shapes come spacey and boxy, swathed in spring's growing verdure and clear skies — variations of striking blues and greens in abundance. Mother Nature's flora and fruits of labour are too captured in orange and red accents; appropriate for the casual amble in the park, whether it's Hyde or Hort you fancy.

The collection also makes room for swimwear — available at the cusp of summer — and the continuation of Uniqlo's BLOCKTECH series of water-resistant, waterproof and breathable coats for both men and women.
