Uniqlo U fall/winter 2019: Christophe Lemaire's seasonal basics are as appealing as ever for Singapore weather
Given the public's thirst for all things new, it's tempting for most designers to re-invent the wheel at the risk of forgetting what made their work desirable in the first place. It's a concern that Christopher Lemaire — longtime creative director of Uniqlo's U line — probably never worries about. Instead, the U team consistently creates versatile, unfussy clothes that resonate with most everybody: no easy feat. That's not to say that it's the same old tune for fall/winter 2019, though. New surprises include Blocktech fabric that's wind-proof and water-proof, yet still breathable; reversible fleece jackets with water-repellent nylon linings; and a new trouser silhouette for women with curvier volumes.
Uniqlo U fall/winter 2019 collection will be available online and at Uniqlo boutiques from 27 September.
