Uniqlo x Ines de la Fressange's fall collection is all about happiness
Christmas in July
There's much to be learnt from the Danes, of whom have consistently topped the World Happiness Report for years running. Just like how Denmark is known for its robust stable of Michelin starred restaurants (yes, they're not just famed for the danish pastry which in fact hails from Vienna), hygge, the notion of well-being and happiness — or that warm, fuzzy feeling — is also a Danish trait.
Centred around such simple a message of happiness, French designer Ines de la Fressange's eighth collaboration with Uniqlo seeks to eminate similar sentiments. Cue: Warm and wintry hues of beige, cream, navy, maroon, khaki green and fuschia, tossed up in quintessentially Parisian silhouettes. The LifeWear range, a host of staples in de la Fressange's elegant, fuss-free spirit consists of tapered lounge trousers, corduroy skirts, flared trousers, cosy jumpers and classic trenches intended to serve as well as they look — an anchor to any closet.
The fall/winter collection also marks the first menswear line from the tie-up, an easy, vintage-tinged edit that follows closely to that of its women's offerings.
