Unbuttoned: You'll love the subversion in Valextra's FW16 Collection

The Button Project

Valextra presents a FW16 collection that challenges the norm

Non-conformity is the keyword when it comes to Valextra's latest fall/winter collection that pushes minimalism to the edges. Combining the know-how of fashion editor Alexander Fury, and the signature ink-based style of artist Clym Evernden, Unbuttoned is an offering of subtle radicalism that takes apart perfection and reassembles it with a raw originality.

Altering Valextra's luxury icons into a multi-faceted trio that mirrors the different sides of a woman, the handbags are boldly reconstructed with an 'X' to symbolise the rejection of convention. A representation of the Valextra woman who emboldens the extraordinary and unique, the grained leather handbags are given a fresh saturated colourway and new hardware.

Adding to the graphic minimalism is a colourful mass of magnetic clip-on buttons in solid contours and vivid pop-accents, crafted by Italian designer Martino Gamper, that allows for endless re-imagination. Easily mixed and matched across all the bags, these artistic buttons proclaim an inimitable individual style that underscores the deconstructed silhouette. Encompassing the various aspects of the Valextra DNA, Unbuttoned is unconventional elegance — understated but provocative, discreet yet infused with a hidden vibrancy; a distinct statement that surprises at every turn.
