Uniqlo and Inès de la Fressange collab again, pyjamas to come with spring/summer offerings this Friday

Cosy indoors and out

Nine seasons later, the Uniqlo and Ines de la Fressange collection can still surprise us

By now, you would have to be living under a rock if you didn't know about Uniqlo's impressive line-up of collaborators. It counts Hana Tajima, fashion designer and visual artist as a regular partner-in-crime, as it does Christophe Lemaire who heads up the Uniqlo U division, serving up modest fashion and experimentive everyday wear respectively.

And then there are the one-offs. From that roster, Jil Sander and J.W. Anderson's names pop into mind. Bottega Veneta Creative Director, Tomas Maier's upcoming capsule for Uniqlo will lend additional prestige to the job. We await for the month of May with bated breath.

But first, Ines de la Fressange's ninth (yes, ninth!) collection in a couple days. Now, lying is a serious offense in journalism, so we're not going to say de la Fressange coloured far outside the lines in this spring/summer 82-piecer. No, what she did instead, what she will do on March 16, is deliver yet another steady, reliable range of striped tees, micro print slip and wrap dresses, and frilly blouses to be layered with the Mandarin collar denim jacket (the pièce de résistance) and earthy linen blazers. Accessories come by way of leather belts and Panama hats, to bring out the carefree mesh and straw bags. Look out for the new addition of cotton pyjama separates — those will disappear from the racks first.
