The biggest fashion event of the year returns with a power lineup of international, regional, and local designers, set to grace the runway come October

Singapore Fashion Week has unveiled an all-Asian designer lineup for 2016, with the likes of Chinese couturier Guo Pei, local designer Max.Tan, Indian-American designer Naeem Khan, and Malaysian-native Han Chong's London-based label Self-Portrait taking centre stage this October. Kicking off the event this year is Guo Pei, the genius behind Rihanna's iconic Met Gala gown. Regional and local designers include Ong Shunmugam, Exhibit, Arissa X, Max.Tan, Aijek, Stolen, Chi Chi Von Tang, Mashizan, Nude Femme, Nida Shay, and Sheranut. For the first time ever, Singapore Fashion Week will be happening at the National Gallery.

Joining forces with Digital Fashion Week, this year's instalment marks a major shift towards immediacy – all shows will be live-streamed (a 360 degree virtual reality feed, no less) on a brand new industry-support platform called Singapore Fashion Week Access.
Singapore Fashion Week Ambassadors include Love, Bonito co-founder Rachel Lim, Elementary Co.'s co-founder Charmaine Seah-Ong and marketing director Aarika Lee, and, Friends of Buro founder of The Paper Bunny Jaime Lee, food stylist Bella Koh, PPurpose programming director Tracy Phillips, local radio DJ Rosalyn Lee, and founder of Collate The Label Velda Tan

“The fashion week in Singapore has come of age to embrace and celebrate Asian designers and highlights. While we continue to learn and be inspired by successful designers and labels from the West, the time has come to change the game, with the rise of digital technology and consumer power in Asia," says Ms Tjin Lee, chairman of SGFW. "We believe that this year’s mix of stunning Asian international highlights and spotlight on homegrown talents at SGFW will be exciting for fashion-watchers across Asia and the world."

Singapore Fashion Week 2016 will be taking place from 26 to 30 October.
