Shentonista Restyled: An e-commerce store of pre-loved clothes curated in style
Now shoppable
If there had to be a household name for fashion in Singapore, Shentonista would assume it naturally. A riff off the busiest stretch of town: Shenton, where you'll find the majority of our city's working hoard, the street style bible highlights sharply dressed locals venturing out of the typical OL-workwear. Their aim? To dispel the myth that office-goers, and Singaporeans at large, have no sense of style. And lo and behold, it's been ten years documenting stylish netizens.
To celebrate the milestone, the curators debut their first e-commerce store, Shentonista Restyled. Where pre-loved clothes and accessories get a second chance, in the wake of detrimental effects of fast fashion and consumerism. Shoppers get to reduce Singapore's textile wastage while sieving through curated outfits from Shentonista. The picks will be styled according to various occupations — from designing fits befitting for artists to lawyers. The new initiative sees collaborations with like-minded individuals and personalities, in hopes of breathing new life into pieces and products that still have plenty to give. Think of it as killing two birds with one stone: by shopping vintage, it means you'll no longer run the risk of an awkward run-in with your colleague wearing the same mass-produced blouse.
Expect the first phase to drop as soon as this Friday — specially curated by multi-hyphenate Linda Hao. Her collection will comprise of four diverse looks — where you'll find her selects sparking individuality and eclecticism. All of which have been previously loved, worn, and designed by her. The next two collections will come from Nicole Chin, an advocate for sustainable thrifting and Susannah Jaffer, founder of ZERRIN as well as eco-fashion entrepreneur.
Below, browse Hao's curated picks for ahead of the launch of Shentonista Restyled:
Shentonista Restyled will go live on 15 January.
