Rimowa teams up with Garrett Leight for an unlikely collaboration
Ride the new wave
Travel plans may been canned for now, but that's not stopping us from appreciating a great collaboration inspired by the beach – specifically Venice beach, famous for its surfers and skateboarders. Yup, Rimowa has teamed up with indie eyewear brand Garrett Leight California Optical (GLCO) on a special collection just in time to celebrate GLCO's 10th anniversary. This also marks a new milestone for Rimowa, as the German brand ventures into eyewear.
Featuring GLCO's signature classic tailored styling paired with a modern touch, the sunglasses are available in three metal and three acetate variations in different colours, and are each housed in a grooved polycarbonate carry case.
And what's a Rimowa collab without luggage, right? Celebrating the laidback, free-spirited vibe of the Californian coast, you'll be instantly beach-ready with the Rimowa x Garrett Leight California Optical Essential Cabin bag, packed with a beach towel, surf wax, luggage sticker sets, and a matching luggage tag. You'll also have the option of customising your limited edition carry-on with two luggage sticker sets.
The breezy, feel-good essence of the collection is captured by the campaign directed and filmed by Dave Franco, and shows off the lightweight flexibility of the lugagge as a (gulp!) skateboard.
