Puma x MCM: The collaboration you didn't see coming gets a release date in Singapore
Mark your calendars
Buzz is quite a rare commodity these days. Those who've mastered the golden formula reap returns tenfold, but getting there proves a tough nut to crack in the Internet age. Collaborations seem the rule rather than the exception, access is often granted at the tap of a finger, and borders, broken down by e-commerce and freight forwarding companies. So what's left to incite a little fervour in us desensitised consumers? The element of surprise: a friend, not foe.
It's woven in the DNA of every Supreme drop; the kooky collectibles — from bricks and metro cards to solar-powered lamps — literally have a dedicated following of their own. Balenciaga's IKEA bag got tongues wagging, fashion and otherwise. And in similar vein, the upcoming Puma x MCM. It wasn’t an obvious pairing, though their rubbing of shoulders should have crossed our minds — both brands boast German genealogies.
On occasion of the Seude's 50th anniversary and, as homage to their hip-hop pedigree in the '80s, MCM's Visetos canvas coats the upper of the sneaker in white, their distinctive cognac, and a red and blue colourway. Other collaborative elements include the leather accessories brand's brass plate on the Suede's tongue, and Puma's T7 track jacket and trousers included in the logo-led makeover.
Puma x MCM:
Puma x MCM's cognac and white colourways to retail at the Puma Select store at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Limited Edt Chamber and Pedder on Scotts from 8 June, with red and blue now available at MCM at The Paragon.
