Northern seas cool: Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh for Moncler
Introducing Moncler O
No one knows outerwear and down jackets like Moncler does. Couple the know-how with the creative props of Off-White creative director, Virgil Abloh, and Moncler O is born. Taking cues from the fishermen of the Northern seas, Moncler O sees streetwear style and technical elements meet in the most creative ways. Think stormy skies recreated on jackets and rubberised materials befitting the theme.
"The fisherman motif was inspired by researching a different niche within cold-weather environments — the style of dress in that form-meets-function field I found interesting to explore with an Off-White sensibility," explained Abloh about his inspiration.
The collaboration features multi-pocketed anoraks reminiscent of classic waxed sailing jackets, either unlined or padded to weather through chilly elements. Long jackets and puffer coats are available with fixed or detachable hoods, offering weather appropriate versaility. Also featured the collection are waistcoats inspired by lifejackets, long and short parkas, trousers made of double-waterproof cotton, and matelot garments.
See attention paid to the details, with technological smarts and fabrics working together to enhance each piece with the likes of glossy or opaque PVCs with a velvety hand, checkered nylon with a laminate finish on the reverse, and ultra-light cottons printed with exclusive patterns. Throughout, see the French-Italian brand's logo stand out in yellow silicone with Off-White's signature stripes on the revisioned fishermen's uniform.
