Nike honours basketball legends with Flip the Switch collection
State of play
The NBA playoffs is an uncertain time for basketball fans. Which team will advance to the finals? Will the Chicago Bulls or the Boston Celtics take the cake? Amidst all the unpredictably, the one player that always come out on top no matter what the scoreboard reads is Nike — starting with the Flip the Switch collection.
The Nike Basketball 4-piecer for men is set to spotlight the season's buzz with colour blends, fade patterns and slashed Swoosh logos. Created for LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Paul George respectively, each design embody traits unique to each athlete's charge to the championship in June.
Built for the four-time MVP and three-time champion's explosive game style, The LEBRON 14 for James features a monochromatic upper cushioned with Zoom Air, while the Flyknit upper on Kevin Durant's KD9 Elite is painted in a melange grey, with a midsole gold fade running above the full-length Zoom Air unit. Also check out the paint job on point guard Kyrie Irving's energetic grey-blue-purple KYRIE 3; it comes with an outsole of highlighted traction pods too. The PG1, inspired by Paul George, already has a building fan base since its debut this January. This dark grey version is embellished with a neon pink forefoot strap and an equally bright sole.
The Flip the Switch collection will be available on May 5 at Hoops Factory.
