Net-a-Porter celebrates 20 years of Preen by Thornton Bregazzi
Punk rock and flowers
Mention Preen by Thornton Bregazzi and the contrasting blend of soft floral and rock comes to mind. Two decades after setting up shop in a tiny unit on London's Portobello Road, with a whole slew of runways and celebrity dressings under their belt, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi's inclination towards the gothic romantic is still seen in their anniversary capsule collection.
True to form, the brand's exclusive retail partnership with Net-a-Porter sees the mix of graphic floral prints and delicate frills outline the collection of six standout pieces created in celebration of their 20th anniversary. Described as deconstructed chic with minimal opulence, hammered silk, georgette and devoré is partnered with gentle, romantic peony or colour pop prints to maintain the cool British aesthetic and tongue-in-cheek chic.
Keeping to contemporary and classic silhouettes, the designers curate especially for the modern woman with an intertextual methodology. Working with the previous collections to create the current and imbuing the new with a sense of nostalgia, they've perfected the capsule collection to commemorate 20 years of preening — encapsulating the essence of what dressing up is about.
The exclusive collection by Preen by Thorton Bregazzi is now available at Net-a-porter.com.
