Maje brings a feminine edge to Schott's bomber jackets

Maje x Schott

The French-American collaboration injects fresh perspective to classics

Although Schott might be a name unfamiliar to many, make no mistake, the fashion brand is all but lacking in heritage. In the early 20th century, Schott was the go-to clothing company to design and provide garments for the U.S. military — bomber jackets for pilots, pea coats for the navy, and leather jackets for the police. Such an undertaking can be traced back to the American company's tour de force in 1928: Designing and selling the first-ever leather motorcycle jacket.

Joining forces with Schott is Maje, reimagining their bomber jackets with fresh detailing — introducing hidden zippers and rendering the jacket an exaggerated shape by way of gathered seams. The tie-up with the Parisian label known for its boho femininity also sees the silhouette of the bomber marrying an outer that's quintessentially French. Tacked onto the range is a trench coat, designed to include the jacket's recognisable rounded arms.
