Bidding goodbye to brown: Louis Vuitton's new packaging
The French maison's packaging gets a fresh update in saffron and cobalt

Shedding its signature shade of chocolate-brown, Louis Vuitton is retracing its roots of travelling with a new tone: Imperial saffron. Seen on many iconic heritage pieces such as the 1928 vuittonite canvas cabin trunk of Vuitton’s historical archives to Ghesquière's latest Petite Malle handbags, the distinctive colour intertwines with the 162-year-old history of the maison.

Complementing the imperial saffron packaging is the string of cobalt blue cotton ribbon which has made its appearance in personalisation details since 1854. Interiors and linings are printed in light beige in echo of Louis Vuitton's natural leather. This new packaging is made sturdier than its former with attention to sustainability. Modern and eternal, the spirit of travel's golden age is here to stay.
