Meet Singapore's streetwear label Lisa Von Tang, Chi Chi's swanky younger sister
Fans of Chi Chi Von Tang know the drill. Bomber jackets. Oriental collars. Vibrant jacquards. Statement sleeves. The Singapore label has stayed true to its MO in its first seasons. Two years later, something new. Or rather, someone new.
Lisa Von Tang, named after its founder, Lisa Crosswhite, is ready for her debut. The premium line, while still whistling the same tune as its older street arm, is committed to opulence. Think: Traditional Chinese brocade trims, silk linings, velvet outerwear and — crucial to its expansion into luxury — bespoke tailoring. Yin to Chi Chi's yang, the Heartbeat ready-to-wear collection, Lisa's first, sees an experimentation with elements evoking traditional femininity. Casual bombers made way for slinky imperial robes with nipped waists and jackets with sweeping angel sleeves; its heavily printed harem pants tweaked sheer to tease glimpses of gams.
Home to Lisa's chapter is The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Its floor space a shopper's haven housing Lisa and Chi Chi side by side, but the highlight of the flagship (which at date of publishing is in its soft launch stage) is the glass atelier room, where customers will find museum-grade fabrications and tribal handloomed yarns Crosswhite gathered from her globetrekking days, now specially reserved for custom creations.
Lisa Von Tang officially opens its doors at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands #01-68 on December 8.
