Breaking: Diane Von Furstenberg appoints Jonathan Saunders as chief creative officer
Known for his fantastical colours, the Scottish designer whose eponymous label showed its last collection in spring/summer 2016 has just been appointed Diane Von Furstenberg's new chief creative officer. An expert in accentuating femininity with his soft silhouettes, it's not hard to see why the American brand has found its successor in Jonathan Saunders.
"Jonathan's extraordinary passion for colours and prints, his effortless designs, and his desire to make women feel beautiful make him the perfect creative force to lead DVF into the future. I could not have found a cooler, more intelligent designer," affirms Diane Von Furstenberg.
With Saunders under the wing of the founder — and creator of the wrap dress, no less — there's likely to be a change in the landscape of womenswear. Due to present his first collection for the brand during the spring/summer 2017 season, here's a toast to an exciting new chapter, to be revealed come New York Fashion Week in September.
