1. Meghan Markle and Timothée Chalamet are the most influential fashion figures of 2019.

According to global fashion search engine Lyst, the two led the highest searches for the outfits they've sported this year. Zendaya, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Blackpink’s Lisa, Kylie Jenner, Lizzo, Harry Styles, and Billy Porter round up the top 10.


2. Victoria’s Secret cancels show.

L Brands, the parent company of Victoria’s Secret, has confirmed that the annual fashion extravaganza (which has been embroiled in controversy in recent years) is no longer. They plan on re-thinking “how to advance the positioning of the brand and best communicate that to customers”.


3. Coach and Savage x Fenty appoint brand ambassadors.

The former will be fronted by Jennifer Lopez while singer Normani will be the face of Rihanna’s lingerie label.

4. Burberry partners with Tencent.

The exclusive collaboration will result in a “concept that blends social media and retail to create digital and physical spaces for engaged communities to interact, share, and shop,” according to Burberry. The physical store built with Tencent technology is set to open in Shenzhen next year.

5. Rumours are swirling of a Dior and Nike collaboration.

The alleged design will feature the Air Jordan 1 covered with Dior Monogram Oblique print. About 1,000 pairs are set to drop in June 2020, priced at US$2,000 a pop.


6. Missguided and Loewe called out on social media.

The fast fashion e-tailer has allegedly copied another design from the Giambattista Valli x H&M collection. Loewe, on the other hand, was under fire for a striped ensemble in the William De Morgan capsule. Some Internet folks thought it looks eerily similar to outfits Jews had to wear in Nazi concentration camps. The Spanish luxury label has since apologised and pulled the outfit off the shelves.

7. Raf Simons makes first public appearance this year.

The Belgian designer gave a talk at the Antwerp Trade Fair during which he shared about his experiences as the creative director of major fashion labels. This is Simons’s first public appearance since departing Calvin Klein 11 months ago.


8. Prada taps on Grace Coddington.

The creative-director-at-large of American Vogue is one of the faces of Prada’s resort 2020 collection.


9. Missoni opens flagship store in Singapore.

10. Cult Gaia debuts swimwear.
