Gucci's new and playful pastel collection Towards the Sun 2020

Colour is the key to a spirit of freedom and playfulness in Gucci's Towards the Sun collection, evoking the idea of light and warmth, with a range of pastels reflecting a mood of joy and optimism. Both formal and informal, the highly versatile designs are suited to many occasions. Refined, elegant, and contemporary, Towards the Sun pieces which comprise bags, shoes, ready-to wear, accessories, and small leather goods have a characterful, informal spirit and are enriched by the presence of Gucci House motifs and hardware. The women's bags in the collection are from the GG Marmont 2.0 (featuring the metal GG detail in shiny silver for the first time), Gucci Zumi, and Gucci 1955 Horsebit lines. Towards the Sun also sees the addition of a new idiosyncratic bucket bag and a whole range that breathes new life into a print from the House archive: the bold red/yellow/green/blue Baiadera stripe.

Developed in response to the writings of feminist film theorist, Laura Mulvey, and as an extension of her book 'Girl on Girl: Art and Photography in the Age of the Female Gaze', Charlotte Jansen moderates insightful interviews, addresses issues of self-affirmation, image, identity, and representation on the podcast.

Johnny Coca as Louis Vuitton Women's Fashion Leather Goods Director

Rising from a leather goods designer at Louis Vuitton, Coca says "The journey now has come full circle, to the place where I was lucky enough to hone my passion first-hand and learn the fundamentals of leather craftsmanship in the ateliers at Asnières. It opens a new chapter in my own creative adventure, in an extraordinary laboratory that blends heritage and modernity." Delphine Arnault, Louis Vuitton's Executive Vice President, is confident that Coca "will strengthen [their] creative energy and [their] ability to innovate" and he is "in perfect unison with Louis Vuitton's spirit and shares [their] vision."
