1. Birkenstock slams Supreme and Vetements
Don't let Birkenstock's recent tie-ups with Colette and Rick Owens make you think they'll say yes to just about every Tom, Dick and Harry. They had no qualms turning down cult streetwear brand Supreme and sticking it to them publicly either. In an interview with The Cut, Birkenstock's CEO Oliver Reichert revealed that while the German shoe manufacturer had been approached by Supreme and Vetements, they decided against the collaborations as "there's no benefit for us except prostitution, because this is just prostitution." Burn.

    2. Crazy Rich Asians premieres in Singapore
After making it to #1 in the U.S. box office, the Crazy Rich Asians' stellar cast made their way to the jade carpet at Capitol Theatre on Tuesday. The #supportlocal movement was strong with Tan Kheng Hua wearing Stolen, Constance Lau wearing Time Taken To Make A Dress and Janice Koh wearing Ong Shunmugam.

    3. See Meghan Markle's Givenchy wedding dress up close
The Duchess of Sussex's wedding dress might go on display at Windsor Castle by the end of the year. If she allows the heavily discussed boat neck gown designed by Clare Waight Keller to be viewed by the public, she'll be following in the footsteps of sister-in-law, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Over 350,000 people flocked to see the latter's Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding gown in the first six weeks it hung at Buckingham Palace during the summer of 2011.

      4. Topshop shimmies with Halpern
We cannot hide our excitement (and approval) for Topshop x Halpern — it has major Studio 54 vibes and will launch just in time for the festive season. New York-born, London-based designer Michael Halpern was arguably the most hyped designer of London Fashion Week's fall/winter 2018 season in February (we mean that as a compliment), and his signature party aesthetic of high-impact prints, blinding sequins and disco-dancing shapes will draw crowds to Topshop stores globally and online in November. Set the alarm.

        5. Kendall Jenner receives no LOVE from other models
After what she said in her interview with LOVE magazine, we don't really blame them. Jenner faced backlash thanks to her controversial comments about her peers: "Since the beginning we've been super selective about what shows I would do... I was never one of those girls who would do like 30 shows a season or whatever the f—k those girls do." Industry veterans such as model Daria Strokous wrote in response: "'Whatever the f—k those girls do' is do their very best to make their way up AND try to make some money so that they can provide for themselves and their families. Oh, and it's 70 shows a season by the way and we are all f—king proud of every single one of the girls that did it." Fair enough.

          6. Kaia Gerber and Karl Lagerfeld do the dance
Karl Lagerfeld and muse Kaia Gerber have designed an exclusive ready-to-wear and accessories collection conceptualised in a day-to-night, Paris-to-LA approach combining Gerber's West Coast style and Lagerfeld's Parisian flair. There's logo hoodies, double-breasted tuxedos, monogram chokers, velvet bags, et cetera and they will go on sale on Karl.com and Revolve.com for two weeks from August 30. Will this have the same effect as Gigi x Tommy Hilfiger? We'll keep tabs.

          7. The Simpsons x ASOS Design sends us on a frenzy
The Simpsons... you definitely read that in the tune of the show's opening credits. The cool streetwear offerings from The Simpsons' collaboration with ASOS Design which dropped on Thursday are slowly selling out. Denim overalls, printed T-shirts and gold hoops celebrate the show's upcoming 30th season. Feel old yet?
