Thom Browne designs a limited edition Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.

The American designer teamed up on to launch a limited edition of Samsung's groundbreaking new Galaxy Z Flip — a new smartphone with a clamshell form factor. Browne's hand can be seen on the exterior as a pebbled leather case with his signature red, white, and blue stripes. But what's more interesting is the user interface, which comes with a special Venetian blind and typewriter sound effects carefully selected to fit sleek, timeless aesthetic of Thom Browne's universe.


Vans joins forces with Sandy Liang.

Sandy Liang, the very trendy New York designer, is launching a collaboration with Vans on 21 February. The collection will include apparel, accessories, and five reinterpretations of Vans' classic skate shoe styles. Liang's approach for the collaboration is one of nostalgia, so expect to find a lot of '90s throwback in all the little details.


Christian Cowan soundtracks his fashion show with Lady Gaga's leaked single.

Christian Cowan was one to watch this New York Fashion Week for more than one reason. Yes, the fashion was glamorous, dramatic, and fabulous, but what really stood out was the brazen move to use 'Stupid Love', the latest leaked song from Lady Gaga, as the soundtrack for his show. We expect some lawyers will be in touch soon.


Phoebe Philo might be making a comeback soon.

WWD broke the news this week that Phoebe Philo is planning a return to fashion. Word is, she's putting together a brand of her own with an environmental angle and interviewing designers for it. There have also been rumours, however, that Philo's met with the Wertheimers (owners of Chanel) recently, and the longstanding whispers that she is headed to Azzedine Alaia. Whichever way, we can't wait for the return of one of fashion's most phenomenal talents.


Mikimoto and Comme des Garçons collaborate.

If you've been looking for a way to get into pearls, now's the time. Comme des Garçons has collaborated with the venerable house of Mikimoto on a line of cultured pearl necklaces. It's easy to think of pearls as old and lady-like, but these, with the fashionable edge of Comme des Garçons, would look cool on any young person's neck — a little subversive even. Miley Cyrus walks for Marc Jacobs.

Miley Cyrus made a fashion week appearance at Marc Jacobs — on the runway no less. Jacobs' latest show was a fashion extravaganza, complete with dancers from the Karole Armitage company. Miley, for her part, stomped down the catwalk in a bra top and tailored trousers, dragging a zebra print coat beside her.


Minju Kim's line is now available on Net-a-Porter.

Spoiler alert! In the unlikely case you haven't seen Netflix's Next In Fashion (go watch it!), you should at least know that the winner, Minju Kim, is getting the chance to retail her winning designs on Net-a-Porter. Good news: the line's already up and you can shop the looks that got Kim crowned the winner of Netflix's first reality fashion competition. Natalie Portman makes a feminist statement with her Dior cape.

Natalie Portman wore a stunning Dior cape to the Oscars embroidered with the names of female directors who were snubbed by the Academy this year. It would have been a powerful feminist statement were it not for the backlash Portman has received, due to the fact that Portman's own production company, Handsomecharlie Films, has only ever hired one female director: Portman herself.


Tosh Zhang is a Puma ambassador.

Tosh Zhang, famous for his turn as a platoon sergeant in the Ah Boys to Men films, is now a brand ambassador for Puma. According to Zhang, he was first introduced to the brand's sneakers at the age of 13, when he started b-boying and becoming part of the hip hop scene. He'll be joining fellow Singaporean ambassadors Dawn Yeoh and Sonia Chew — their campaigns for Puma will drop on 22 February.
