Homegrown fashion label Weekend Sundries opens their first retail store at Great World City
Fans of Weekend Sundries can now try on its outfits before parting ways with their monies. Expanding beyond their stockists, the homegrown fashion label has opened its first flagship store at Great World City.
On the move, the brand says, "It's true e-commerce is booming but we've always had a connection with our customers as our brand started out offline in the beginning. When the opportunity came up to own a brick-and-mortar, it seemed only natural that we come back a full circle." The brand joins the ranks of fellow local brands including Love, Bonito, In Good Company, and Beyond The Vines, who have ventured into the offline retail space.
For the uninitiated, Weekend Sundries is founded in 2012 by owner and designer Michelle Chan, and prides itself in offering womenswear that are suited for Singapore’s year-round heat and humidity. Think wardrobe staples made with lightweight fabrics — such as polyester blends, organic cotton, and other eco-friendly textiles — sourced personally from Japan, and cut into loose-fitting and forgiving silhouettes. We're also partial to their seasonal, limited edition prints inspired by nostalgic playthings of our childhood, like zero point game and chap tek.
