Sofia Coppola directs a film on a Chanel icon: the 11.12 bag.
No matter what the bag trend of the season is, not many bags have stood the test of time like Chanel's 11.12 bag. Credited as the first Chanel bag to feature a double-C, the 11.12 was conceived by the late Karl Lagerfeld in 1983. As an homage to the iconic bag, Sofia Coppola has directed a short film — aptly named The Chanel Iconic — that highlights the undeniably chic and timeless allure of the classic bag. Everything from the leather-and-chain strap to the functionality of the 11.12 is beautifully displayed by a bevy of models.
