Burberry x Vivienne Westwood: What we know so far about the collab led by Riccardo Tisci
Recently appointed Burberry chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci is wasting no time making waves at his new home. His first agenda upon taking over the role from Christopher Bailey? A collaboration with a name just as iconic as the moniker at Burberry's storefront: Vivienne Westwood.
The trio — the tango also ropes in Westwood's long-time love and design partner Andreas Kronthaler — is due to serve up limited editions by way of re-imagined Burberry icons, so we predict trench coats with exaggerated silhouettes (if Westwood is allowed to stay true to DNA), millennial headgear, and maybe even a special edition Belt bag.
"Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself and when I first started at Burberry," said Tisci. "I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something. She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together."
The collaboration, the first for Burberry under Tisci, will launch in December.
