Homecoming: Burberry marks its return to London’s Haymarket

Something old, something new

In collaboration with Dover Street Market's new opening, Burberry returns to its original locale in Haymarket

In a reunion of serendipitous proportions, Burberry makes their way back to its first retail spot together with Dover Street Market in the building that had been home to the British icon for almost a century.

Collaborating with the multi-level fashion retail and concept store as they launch their new boutique in Haymarket, Burberry has curated a selection of 20 original weatherproof coats to be displayed in an exclusive customised installation. These coats, inclusive of men and women's styles, have been specially restored for Dover Street Market. Featuring Burberry signatures such as the double and single-breasted trench coats, as well as the single-breasted raincoats, these heritage pieces are individually numbered and packaged in bespoke boxes.

A unique setup that takes inspiration from Burberry's legacy, the showcase is dedicated to the weatherproofing abilities of these iconic coverups with paper clouds and mirrored water puddles expressive of UK's rainy climes. In celebration of Burberry's homecoming, Rei Kawakubo (the creator of Dover Street Market) will be introducing Burberry coats to their collections — a Dover Street Market first — by reinventing the emblematic trench, which will be available later in the year.
