Best dressed at Venice Film Festival 2016 — Days 2 & 3: Maximalist florals
Days 2 and 3 of the 73rd Venice Film Festival saw a resurgence of florals — maximalist-style
Silver screen stars were blooming on the red carpet as days 2 and 3 of the 73rd Venice Film Festival marked the premieres of highly anticipated flicks The Light Between Oceans and Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals. Aptly setting the mood for her romantic period drama film, The Light Between Oceans star Alicia Vikander got the ball rolling by showing up in a Victorian-influenced get-up, complete with micro floral print and cascading frills.
It was an explosion of botanical appliqués with the likes of leading lady of The Bleeder Naomi Watts donning a blush-hued halter gown embellished with nature-inspired motifs. Toning it down a notch was Czech model-actress Eva Herzigova, who opted for a sheer, embroidered number. With their impossibly intricate detail, these looks were a call for double takes.
