Adidas' eco-friendly UltraBOOST Parley now comes equipped with an educational chip
Tech on feet
Having heavily championed the anti-plastic pollution movement in the last few years — with an evergrowing eco-friendly collection in collaboration with Parley for the Oceans to show for it — Adidas' latest drop grabs attention not for its fresh colourways but for its efforts to raise the bar. First released in 2017, the UltraBOOST Parley is fashioned from a special Primeknit composed of 85% ocean plastic. The 2018 version improves upon its predecessor with the introduction of NFC chips.
Located in the right shoe, the tech's sole purpose is to educate its wearer on plastic pollution through information accessible on phones. The release is of two seafoam-inspired hues, backed by Barcelona goalkeeper and ocean activist Marc-André ter Stegen for greater awareness to the cause.
