Tom Ford is bringing sexy back with silk boxers in his debut underwear collection
Six-pack not included
Known for hauling sex, seduction and flamboyance into clothes, fashion designer Tom Ford is not one for discretion. He is a showman after all. Having brought us that very provocative men's G-string during his Gucci days in the spring/summer 1997 show, Ford is now debuting his men's underwear collection (a more wearable one at that) in his own name.
Shown during his fall/winter 2018 men's show at New York Fashion Week earlier this year, the collection will feature briefs, trunks, short boxers and boxers. Not just in boring cotton jersey thank you very much — because this is Ford, not Fruit of the Loom, there must be a level of "extra" in his drawers. Ergo, boxer shorts in printed silks and metallics, plus an array of striking animal prints from zebra to leopard. Tamer geezers, breathe easy knowing the Tom Ford underwear collection also offers a range of nude options, held up with the designer's signature velvet branding.
When women have been bearing the weight of the boudoir allure for decades, it seems only fitting Ford is imploring men to step up to the plate.
It's 2018 after all.
The Tom Ford underwear collection will be available in November.
