Sam Smith's style: His best outfits and red carpet looks
The Thrill Of It All
Besides having one of the world's most beautiful voices, Sam Smith also has killer wardrobe. Since his debut in 2012, the English singer-songwriter has been seen in spiffy suits more often that not—a uniform with either a white T-shirt or a crisp button-down, fastened all the way to the top, air tie-style. That, or he goes super formal with a bow tie and tuxedo.
"That's all I want. I want what I wear to be iconic. Not even what I wear, the way I hold myself. I don't know, I like clean-cut things that are just iconic. I like wearing things that I would look at pictures of in 60 years' time and they'll still be in fashion, do you know what I mean? That's what I like," he told Rolling Stone magazine.
But his seemingly simple and minimalist approach to formal wear is anything but boring. Smith experiments with fun and youthful colours, textures and prints while sticking to timeless tailoring. Rarely is he in a plain black suit, instead opting shades of navy and green, with unique yet subtle prints and patterns, as well as textures like mohair, silk and velvet. Click through our gallery above for his best looks on stage and the red carpet as we get ready for his The Thrill Of It All World Tour on 2 and 3 October.
