Mason and Smith: The Singaporean shoe-servicing and repair workshop that gives your favourite footwear TLC
Shoe-in
With proper care and the occasional tune-up, a well-crafted pair of leather shoes can serve its owner for a very, very long time; the old-fashioned shoe-shine and the art of repair may be somewhat rarer than in the past, thanks to the rise of fast (read: disposable) fashion, but Mason and Smith is here to make sure you don't have to part with your beloved, well-worn footwear unless you really want to.
At its newly opened, three-storey Club Street flagship, this Singaporean company offers comprehensive polishing and restoration/recolouring services for shoes and other leather goods; it even conducts workshops on DIY shoe repair and maintenance, making it a true haven for those with a passion for high-quality, long-lasting footwear. But what if you haven't yet found a pair of shoes to call your ride-or-dies? Mason and Smith has thought of that too, stocking wares from 19th-century shoemaker Joseph Cheaney and hosting tradeshows with the likes of Japan-based TYE Shoemaker. Shoe-ray (sorry, not sorry)!
