Spring/summer 2016 saw the rise and rise of the Asian male runway models – here's who to keep a lookout for come FW16

A distinctive air of change descended upon the European runways this spring/summer 2016. Diversity (or the lack thereof) on the fashion runways has long been a topic of dissent. But the arguably downtempo movement in the spirit of universality and inclusivity experienced a solid push the past season, in the direction of the East. The leaning towards an Asian represent was palpable in the runway lineups, with a solid number of Asian male models sent traipsing down the catwalks in the elegant offerings of the season. Noteworthy, are Dolce & Gabbana and Emporio Armani that especially embraced the Asian face, perhaps well on the forefront of a welcomed and assuring departure from tokenism.

Here, we pool together a list of some of the male models that walked the runways during SS16, including Singapore's own Andee Chua, who had his very own slice of the positivity pie. Keep a lookout for them as the next season comes around.
