Paris Men's Fashion Week SS16: Ami

Paris Men's Fashion Week SS16: Ami

Back to the Nineties

Alexandre Mattiusi dug deep into the French styles of the 1990s for a collection that reimagined urban cool

The show was held in... the Parc de Tuileries at golden hour; the sun casting a magical glow on the guests as they arrived, and the runway was lined with stalls strung with fairy lights to create a magical circus vibe.

The vibe of the Ami man this season... reflected the '90s: Colours, washes, styling, and volume of collection recalled that era of relaxed chic. Think easygoing oversized coats worn with tees and tapered trackpants for a free-spirited vibe.

Sportswear and streetwear were... invigorated with nonchalant styling and ease. It was all about the white sneakers with models wearing Velcro strap leather sneaks — another nod to the '90s.

One of the standout looks was... a double bleached denim ensemble (Look 7) that conveyed the disaffected cool of an urban cowboy.

Final thoughts of the show... Very chic, very French, super cool and super covetable.
