Paris Fashion Week SS16: Stella McCartney

Paris Fashion Week SS16: Stella McCartney

High energy

Text: Dora Aljoofri-Shrestha

One of the very few female designers in a male dominated industry, Stella McCartney truly understands what women want and need in their wardrobes

The collection: From sheer knit Polo T-shirts and pencil skirts (in contrasting checks and stripes) to flowy pleated dresses and McCartney's signature oversized mannish suitings, this collection has got you covered from day to night, office to cocktails and brunch on the weekends. Presented in energetic colours for summer, the collection was a focus on rich graphic textures that still exude effortless ease.

Favourite look: Look 7. Who would have thought a check picnic tablecloth shirtdress could look so modern and chic? And adding that sash diagonally across the body just upped its appeal.

The accessories: The sandals with sport soles is made for the woman who's always on the go, but likes to keep up with the summer styles. We'll also have one of the gingham bucket bags please.

On our summer wishlist: The finale dresses in swirling lace and eyelet. We can already picture wearing them on our next summer vacay. If there is one thing we're always assured at Stella's spring/summer shows, is that we'll have dresses to twirl and dance in when the season arrives.

The soundtrack: The energetic collection was accompanied by upbeat happy house beats such as Spandex by Will Clarke featuring Rhea and 100 (Kanye West Remix) by Tiga Vs. Boys Noize. The perfect morning perk me up we needed.
